FLAG FOOTBALL: Anderson runs for two scores as Cowboys top Cougars

Mimi Anderson rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns Wednesday to lead Chaparral’s flag football team to a 25-12 win over visiting Coronado.

Toni Meshell threw a touchdown pass to Selena Rosas for the Cowboys.

Green Valley 25, Eldorado 19 — At Green Valley, Adelia Sigala tossed two touchdown passes and ran for a score to lead the Gators by the Sundevils.

Sigala completed 5 of 17 passes for 112 yards and rushed for 80 yards on nine carries.

Carolina Velasquez had four catches for 101 yards and a touchdown, and teammate Jinger Meuir also caught a touchdown pass for Green Valley. Alison Thorne added a rushing TD for the Gators.

Cimarron-Memorial 48, Desert Oasis 21 — At Cimarron, Jaymee Luke rushed for 248 yards and five touchdowns on 12 carries and passed for 219 yards and a score as the Spartans overpowered the Diamondbacks.

Briana Callejo ran for a score, and Alyssa Karpinski caught a 5-yard touchdown pass for Cimarron, which led 28-14 at halftime.

Kylee Bauer completed 17 of 29 passes for 252 yards and two TDs for Desert Oasis. Bauer tossed TD passes to Sydni Aldan and Shonda Badayos. Izriah Hodson added a touchdown run for the Diamondbacks.

Boulder City 27, Rancho 0 — At Boulder City, Jeanne Carmell threw three touchdown passes to Kinsey Smyth as the Eagles blanked the Rams.

Carmell completed 18 of 24 passes for 198 yards. Smyth made six receptions for 95 yards.

Paige Buettner added a rushing TD for Boulder City.

Foothill 34, Basic 0 — At Foothill, Jadyn McArthur threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns as the Falcons defeated the Wolves.

Emily Russell had eight catches for 71 yards and a touchdown, and threw a 40-yard TD pass for Foothill.

Marissa Brackett ran for a score, and Renee Ritchie, Cerina Troyano and Sayonna Thunstrom each caught a TD pass for the Falcons.

Centennial 40, Virgin Valley 0 — At Centennial, Ashley Marshall ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns on five carries as Centennial blanked Virgin Valley.

Talie Bonds, Lauren Ritter, Kiana Sai and Aliyah Wyrick each added a touchdown run for Centennial.

Mojave 24, Western 13 — At Mojave, Raven Williams ran for two touchdowns, and Michelle Hernandez added a touchdown run as the Rattlers beat the Warriors.

The Class 4A and Class 3A state flag football championship games which were scheduled for Thursday and postponed until Friday have again been postponed after the Clark County School District canceled all classes and after-school activities for Friday. The games will be played Monday at Cimarron-Memorial.

Mountain Region: Third time charm for Bonanza against Palo Verde

The Bengals, who’d lost to Palo Verde twice this season, turned the tables on the Panthers in the Mountain Region championship game on Tuesday night. Bonanza got 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Charlene Beck to earn a 20-12 victory at Green Valley.

Desert Region: Gators knock off Coronado to claim championship

Deborah Grant rushed 21 times for 80 yards, and Jazlyn Camacho caught the go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to help the Gators edge the Cougars, 13-6 for the Desert Region Championship at Green Valley.
