FLAG FOOTBALL: Jackson’s three TDs help Jaguars top Pirates

Francis Jackson rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns Wednesday to lead Desert Pines’ flag football team to a 28-6 win over visiting Moapa Valley.

Precious Starks also caught a touchdown pass for the Jaguars.

Canyon Springs 25, Durango 7 — At Canyon Springs, Tea Rivera tossed two touchdown passes and ran for a score as the Pioneers downed the Trailblazers.

Rivera completed 6 of 14 passes for 109 yards, including scoring strikes to Yareli Trujillo and Amaya Youngblood.

Arielle Strong rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries for Canyon Springs.

Shadow Ridge 39, Sunrise Mountain 16 — At Sunrise Mountain, Victoria Tolle threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns as the Mustangs downed the Miners.

Michelle Dominguez ran for 157 yards and a score on 17 carries for Shadow Ridge.

Valley 12, Sierra Vista 6 — At Valley, Sondra Scroggins and Baylee Wieslander each scored a second-half touchdown to lead the Vikings by the Mountain Lions.

Liberty 19, Cheyenne 12 — At Liberty, Jaira Kalama tossed three TD passes to lead the Patriots by the Desert Shields.

Mackenzie Malkiewicz rushed for 103 yards on 17 carries for Liberty.

Spring Valley 27, Del Sol 26 — At Del Sol, the Grizzlies made a late 2-point conversion to edge the Dragons.

Del Sol drove to Spring Valley’s goal line, but the Grizzlies’ defense broke up a pass attempt in the end zone as time expired.

Legacy 13, Las Vegas 7 — At Las Vegas, Aujaneh Jackson’s rushing touchdown with 2:13 left in the game lifted the Longhorns by the Wildcats.

Class 4A: Deborah Grant rushes Green Valley to championship

Deborah Grant ran for 189 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries to twice lead the Gators to a 14-13 victory over Bonanza in the Class 4A state flag football championship game on Monday.

Class 3A: Team effort lifts Del Sol to first state title

Stephanie Tewart tossed two touchdown passes to Janeth Varela to help the Dragons to a 19-6 win over the Bulldogs and the program’s first state title.

Flag Football title games postponed to Monday

The Class 4A and Class 3A state flag football championship games which were scheduled for Thursday and postponed until Friday have again been postponed after the Clark County School District canceled all classes and after-school activities for Friday. The games will be played Monday at Cimarron-Memorial.

Mountain Region: Third time charm for Bonanza against Palo Verde

The Bengals, who’d lost to Palo Verde twice this season, turned the tables on the Panthers in the Mountain Region championship game on Tuesday night. Bonanza got 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Charlene Beck to earn a 20-12 victory at Green Valley.

Desert Region: Gators knock off Coronado to claim championship

Deborah Grant rushed 21 times for 80 yards, and Jazlyn Camacho caught the go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to help the Gators edge the Cougars, 13-6 for the Desert Region Championship at Green Valley.
