2016 record: 11-10 (7-9 Division III Southern, fifth)

Returning starters: Three

Top players: C Andrew Braaksma (Jr.), OF Cesar Arellano (Jr.), IF/P Coda Abatti (Sr.)

Outlook: After finishing eight games below .500 in 2015, the Cougars improved to an above-.500 overall record last season. They’re hoping to continue the progress.

“The Cougars made some nice progress as a program in 2016, and we hope to build on that,” Petrik said. “We expect about 20 kids to report for practice.”
