CANYON SPRINGS

Head coach: Todd Faranda, first season

2012 record: 2-18 (1-13 Northeast)

Returning lettermen (starters): Three (three)

Top players: IF/P Tajh Kehoe (Sr.), OF/P Joe Jackson (Jr.), IF Deshawn Hawkins (Sr.), OF Isiah Carter (Jr.)

Outlook: Faranda inherits a team that won only once in league play last season and is young with only three starts back.

"We play to surprise some people this year," Faranda said. "The plan is to establish a system to the program and continue to improve as a group.

"The goal for the baseball program is to become as competitive as the football and basketball programs are in the city and to buy into our system."
