ROUNDUP: Mormon’s winning hits allows Aggies to nip Durango

Cameron Mormon singled home Sam Pastrone in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday to give Arbor View a 7-6 baseball win over visiting Durango.

Nick Quintana went 3-for-4, and Kaid Urban added two hits and two RBIs for the Aggies.

Anthony Parry homered twice for Durango, and teammate Brett Neighbors had a double and a home run.

Faith Lutheran 8, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Eric Uelmen tossed a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks to lead the Crusaders to victory over the Trojans.

Andrew Hudgins, Logan Etherington, and Greg Sylvester each supplied two hits for Faith Lutheran, which used a five-run fourth inning to pull away.

Shadow Ridge 4, Spring Valley 2 — At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs plated three runs in the bottom of the third, and Travis Caskie fired a three-hitter to defeat the Grizzlies.

Shadow Ridge trailed 2-1 when a pair of errors helped the Mustangs score three times to take the lead.

Caskie did the rest, striking out 11 and walking one.

Brady Hoskins was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Spring Valley’s Dylan Drachler hit a two-run homer in the top of the first to give the Grizzlies the early lead. He also pitched five strong innings, allowing one earned run on three hits with eight strikeouts.

Mojave 5, Western 4 — At Mojave, David Rowley’s two-out single drove home Cory Tobin with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth as the Rattlers rallied to edge the Warriors.

Rowley finished 2-for-4, and teammate Chase Anderson went 2-for-3.

Mojave trailed 4-0 but scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Ryan Garbowski hit a double for Western, which hurt itself with five errors.

Sierra Vista 7, Palo Verde 0 — At Sierra Vista, Tyler Charlton threw six scoreless innings to lead the Mountain Lions over the Panthers.

Charlton allowed three hits, struck out three and walked three.

Nolan Kingham had two singles and an RBI, Caeden Marin singled twice, and Alex Kern had a two-run single for Sierra Vista.

Las Vegas 5, Silverado 1 — At Las Vegas, Jerome Byndloss tossed six solid innings, yielding one run with four strikeouts to allow the Wildcats to top the Skyhawks.

Byndloss added two hits and an RBI, and teammates Dameiko Mack and Hector Perez each supplied two hits for Las Vegas.

Jordan Thomson had an RBI single, and Vincent Taormina doubled for Silverado. 

Valley 12, Canyon Springs 3 — At Canyon Springs, Omar Gonzalez went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Vikings to victory over the Pioneers.

Kevin Rocha went 2-for-4 for Valley, which scored seven runs in the top of the sixth to take a 10-2 lead.

Tajh Kehoe was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Canyon Springs.

Del Sol 5, Desert Pines 3 — At Del Sol, Andrew Natale tossed a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Dragons past the Jaguars.

Marcus Lewis was 2-for-3 with a double for Del Sol.

Juan Cruz went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Desert Pines.

Cheyenne 13, Clark 3 — At Cheyenne, Lamon Harvey went 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and four RBIs to power the Desert Shields past the Chargers in six innings.

Thomas Soltero added a double, a triple, and three RBIs for Cheyenne, which got two doubles from Izac Reza.

Joe Rose scattered nine hits and had just one walk on the hill to earn the win for the Desert Shields.

Ray Mendoza doubled and tripled to lead Clark.

Moapa Valley 9, Tech 0 — At Overton, Josh Repp fired a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts and went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs to power the Pirates past the Roadrunners.

Kasen Hughes was 2-for-3, and Jared Repp added a double for Moapa Valley.

Foothill 10, Wooster 0 — At Foothill, Bligh Madris drove in three runs, and Janson Neff went 2-for-2 with two RBIs to help the Falcons to the five-inning win.

Zack Avery added a home run and two RBIs, and A.J. Mortel was 2-for-2 with three runs for Foothill.

Anthony Lopez threw a three-hitter with three strikeouts to get the victory.

Basic 7, Wooster 4 — At Basic, Isaac Perez went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and the Wolves used a five-run fourth-inning to down the Colts.

Ryan Weldon was 2-for-2 with an RBI for Basic.

Cassin Brown, Tenaya Brown, J.J. Harloff and Coltan Ramirez each had two hits for Wooster.
