2017-18 Liberty Baptist Boys Basketball Capsule

Head coach: Tom Andrews, first season

2016-17 record: 7-10 (Independent)

Returning lettermen (starters): Four (four)

Top players: F Christian Rameriz (Sr.), F Trevor Campbell (So.), F Bryan Smith (Jr.), G Issiah Smith (So.)

Outlook: Andrews takes over for Clayton Sullivan, who coached the team for 12 seasons before accepting a college coaching position.

The Knights return four starters as they make their Class 1A Southern League debut, but they are still young.

“What the team lacks in experience, they make up for in feistiness and intense competitiveness,” Andrews said. “Their goal is to surprise some of the more experienced teams and make a run in the playoffs.”
