BOYS BASKETBALL: Gaynor’s 30 points help Trailblazers steal a victory at Sierra Vista

Darryl Gaynor scored 30 points Thursday to help Durango’s boys basketball team to a 77-65 win at Sierra Vista.

Gaynor was 13-for-14 from the free-throw line in the game for the Trailblazers, who made 21 of 25 foul shots. Gaynor was 8-for-9 from the line in the fourth quarter to help the Trailblazers hang on.

Alex Arias added 18 points, and Victor Ross scored 15 for Durango, which led 30-17 at the half.

Mikko Balmes led the Mountain Lions with 22 points, and teammate Nino Flores scored 12.

Spring Valley 58, Shadow Ridge 50 — At Spring Valley, Travis Walton scored 17 points, and the Grizzlies made 19 of 22 free throws to beat the Mustangs.

DeVante Moten added 12 points, and Carl Albert scored 11 for Spring Valley, which led 27-17 at the half.

Serph Decker and Preston Echols each scored 12 for Shadow Ridge.

Las Vegas 70, Green Valley 58 — At Las Vegas, Re’Kwon Smith poured in 25 points, and teammate Patrick Savoy added 20 points to propel the Wildcats to victory over the Gators.

Las Vegas went 20-for-24 from the free-throw line in the game and outscored Green Valley 30-18 in the second half.

Troy Cropper scored 13 points, and Kris Nicholas had 12 points to lead Green Valley.

Valley 63, Silverado 39 — At Silverado, Cameron Burton had 14 points to help the Vikings top the Skyhawks.

Taveon Jackson added 13 points for Valley, which outscored Silverado 49-30 in the second half.

Joe Baldi and Austin Hunt scored 10 points apiece for Silverado.

Foothill 81, Eldorado 56 — At Eldorado, Austin Starr had 16 points to lift the Falcons over the Sundevils.

Jontee Thomas and Jeron Bodin each scored 11 points, and Jalen Shepard had 10 points for Foothill.

D’Quan Crockett led Eldorado with 23 points, and teammate Joshua Brown scored 19.

Canyon Springs 64, Rancho 50 — At Rancho, Shaquile Carr had 22 points to help the Pioneers beat the Rams.

Darrell McCall and Gerad Davis each added 10 points for Canyon Springs, which led 43-26 at the half.

David McKeever led Rancho with 12 points.

Coronado 84, Del Sol 55 — At Del Sol, Eddie Austin scored 19 points, and the Cougars jumped out to a 26-7 lead after one quarter en route to the win.

Austin Morgan added 14 points, and Matt Johnson scored 11 for Coronado, which also got 10 points from Travis Boman.

Brian Greer and Jonross Juhas each scored 15 points for the Dragons.

Arbor View 91, Palo Verde 84 — At Arbor View, Justin Burks scored 31 points, including 13 in the final quarter, to help the Aggies pull away from the Panthers.

Charles Porter had 26 points and 10 rebounds, and Isaiah Simmons added 10 points and 15 rebounds for Arbor View, which trailed 42-39 at the half.

Terrell Butler added 12 points, and Tristan Lacy scored 10 for the Aggies, who got 13 assists from Corey Moore.

Ja Morgan led Palo Verde with 22 points, and teammate Graeson Vereen added 13 points.

Clark 75, Pahrump Valley 20 — At Pahrump, Jordan Turner scored 12 points, and teammates Keyshaun Webb and Deshawn Wilson each added 10 points to lead 10 scorers as the Chargers routed the Trojans.

Diontae Jones had nine points for Clark, which raced out to a 48-14 halftime lead.

Uriel Ramberg-Wiley supplied six points to lead Pahrump Valley.

Adelson School 74, Word of Life 50 — At Adelson, Jake Buchman had 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Lions past the Eagles.

Sean Perry added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Adelson, which outscored Word of Life 44-24 in the middle quarters.

Rom Izkovich had 12 points, and Francis Ventura and Jacob Elharar each scored 10 for the Lions.

Elijah Hoye led the Eagles with 19 points, and teammate Edoziem Okafor scored 13.
