BOYS BASKETBALL: Rapp’s 3-pointer gives Falcons win

Ryan Rapp hit a 3-pointer with 25 seconds to play Tuesday to help Foothill’s boys basketball team to a 77-76 win over Harvard-Westlake (Calif.) in the Gatorade Division championship game of the Maxpreps Holiday Classic in Palm Springs, Calif.

Foothill trailed 22-13 after one quarter before clawing its way back into the game.

Kevin Woodland had 21 points and five assists, and Te’Vion Reed and Rapp each scored 12 for the Falcons. Torrance Littles added 11 points, six rebounds and five blocked shots, and teammate Colin Curi scored 10 for Foothill.

Alex Copeland led Harvard-Westlake with 32 points, and teammate Wolfgang Novogratz scored 27.

Bishop Gorman 64, Sagemont (Fla.) 49 — At Myrtle Beach, S.C., Nick Blair had 14 points to help the Gaels top Sagemont in a semifinal of the Beach Ball Classic.

Chase Jeter and Richie Thornton each had 13 points, and Stephen Zimmerman had 10 points and nine rebounds for Gorman, which led 30-23 at the half and finished 24 of 39 from the field.

Keyshawn Evans led Sagemont with 16 points.

The Gaels play Franklin (Ohio) for the title at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Canyon Springs 65, St. Mary’s (Ariz.) 55 — At Mesa, Ariz., Zaahid Muhammad scored 15 points to lead the Pioneers to a win over St. Mary’s in the VisitMesa.com Challenge.

Jordan Davis added 11 points for Canyon Springs.

Jon Rivera led St. Mary’s with 14 points.

Desert Pines 69, South Pasadena (Calif.) 57 — At Pasadena, Calif., Capri Uzan had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the Jaguars to the win in the #D1Bound Southern California Christmas Classic.

Trevon Abdullah added 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Colby Myles and Jalen Graves each scored nine for Desert Pines.

Del Sol 66, Don Lugo (Calif.) 55 — At La Puente, Calif., Rashaun Lawson had 17 points and nine assists to lead the Dragons to victory in the Nogales Christmas Classic.

Brian Greer led all scorers with 22 points, and teammate Noah Spearman scored 11 for Del Sol.

Daniel Torres paced Don Lugo with 19 points.

Legacy 61, LaSalle (Calif.) 46 — At Pasadena, Calif., Brody Olenslager scored 13 points to help the Longhorns to the win at the LaSalle Holiday Tournament.

Tracy Porter added 12 points for Legacy, which led 29-21 at the half.

Arbor View 24, Hurricane (Utah) 21 — At Cedar City, Utah, Trent Hunt scored nine points, and the Aggies won a defensive battle against the Tigers in the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic.

After scoring just one point in the third quarter, Arbor View outscored Hurricane, 8-3 in the fourth quarter.

James Bennion led Hurricane with 10 points.

Chandler (Ariz.) 78, Desert Oasis 66 — At Prescott Valley, Ariz., Reese McKinnis had 19 points to lead Chandler past the Diamondbacks in the Alvarez Tire Holiday Hoops Classic.

Rodrick Moore scored 18 points and Aamondae Coleman 16 for Desert Oasis.

Desert Oasis 71, Prescott (Ariz.) 43 — At Prescott Valley, Ariz., Moore had 17 points to lead the Diamondbacks to the win in the Alvarez Tire Holiday Hoops Classic.

Deric Hammock added 14 points, Drevin Cannon had 11 points and Coleman scored 10 for Desert Oasis.

Desert Hills (Utah) 94, Virgin Valley 48 — At St. George, Utah, Quincy Mathews had 23 points as the Thunder rolled past the Bulldogs.

Tanner Leishman and Marcus McKone each added 11 points for Desert Hills.

Hogan Fowles, Cody Jones, Marcus Saunders and Cody Burnside each had eight points for Virgin Valley.

Pahranagat Valley 63, White Pine 42 — At Alamo, Cody Williams had 16 points to help the Panthers top the Bobcats.

Jordan Cryts added 13 points for Pahranagat Valley, which led 18-5 after one quarter.

Chris Young scored 20 for White Pine.
