Gorman’s Zimmerman, Jeter help Team USA to championship

Bishop Gorman basketball standouts Stephen Zimmerman and Chase Jeter helped the USA Basketball Men’s U18 National team to the championship in the 2014 FIBA Americas Championship.

Team USA went 5-0, including a 113-79 win over Canada on Tuesday.

Zimmerman was sixth on the team in scoring with an 8.8 average. He also averaged 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots in 15.8 minutes a game. Zimmerman had nine points and nine rebounds in the title game.

Jeter played 14 minutes a game, averaging 6.6 points and 4.4 rebounds.

The post players are among the top prospects in the class of 2015.
