GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lewis, Strode help Aggies blow by Panthers

Dana Lewis had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and teammate Janae Strode compiled 18 points and eight rebounds Thursday to lead Arbor View’s girls basketball team to a 72-41 home win over Palo Verde.

Ariona Gill had 11 points, and Dani Chaney added 10 points for the Aggies, who opened a two-game lead over both Palo Verde and Durango atop the Northwest League. All three teams have four league games remaining.

Brooklyn Cruz led Palo Verde with 12 points.

Shadow Ridge 45, Spring Valley 22 — At Spring Valley, Aubree Nish and Kaila Hurley each scored nine points to help the Mustangs down the Grizzlies.

Ciera DaPra had eight points for Shadow Ridge, which used a 15-1 third-quarter spurt to pull away.

Aliana Reale led Spring Valley with seven points.

Durango 41, Sierra Vista 20 — At Sierra Vista, Maria Rico had 12 points as the Trailblazers downed the Mountain Lions.

Jazmin Chavez scored nine points, and Vonie Thomas added eight points for Durango.

Kennedy Nieves led Sierra Vista with 11 points.

Canyon Springs 70, Rancho 40 — At Rancho, Cherise Beynon scored 26 points to lead the Pioneers by the Rams.

Alexia Thrower added 18 points, and Daijhan Cooks scored 11 for Canyon Springs.

LaKissa Martin had 12 points, and Kanosha Gray scored 11 for Rancho.

Valley 61, Silverado 40 — At Silverado, Kennedy Wharton scored 18 points, and teammate Gabrielle Cabanero had 17 points as the Vikings downed the Skyhawks.

Alaihya Williams added 11 points for Valley, which raced out to a 32-15 halftime lead.

Deja Siaki led Silverado with 13 points.

Green Valley 70, Las Vegas 36 — At Las Vegas, Ellee Barton had 20 points as the Gators rolled past the Wildcats.

Maggie Manwarren added 17 points for Green Valley, which outscored the Wildcats 38-15 in the second half.

Shaleea Butler had 28 points for Las Vegas.

Coronado 62, Del Sol 39 — At Del Sol, Dajah Washington had 14 points, and the Cougars jumped out to a 19-4 first-quarter lead and cruised by the Dragons.

Samantha Green added 13 points for Coronado, which used a 22-6 third-quarter run to put away the game.

Astrid Rodriguez had 12 points, and Azhwalaee Oliver scored 10 for Del Sol.

Foothill 74, Eldorado 50 — At Eldorado, Kelsey McFarland racked up 29 points to lead the Falcons to a win over the Sundevils.

Katey Roquemore added 19 points for Foothill, which trailed 13-10 after one quarter.

DeNisheun Jackson scored 31 points to lead Eldorado.

Liberty 52, Basic 16 — At Basic, Paris Strawther had 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Patriots routed the Wolves.

Jazmin O’Bannon added 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Aubre Fortner scored nine for Liberty, which led 15-0 after one quarter.

Dana Deloney had eight points for Basic.

Clark 48, Pahrump Valley 26 — At Pahrump, Bobbi Floyd scored 16 points, and the Chargers used a 29-12 run during the middle quarters to down the Trojans.

Ci’Quadya Belser added 13 points, and Johnice Bland scored 10 for Clark.

Alyssa Murphy led Pahrump with 10 points.
