GIRLS BASKETBALL: Matlock, Wildcats edge past Eldorado

Bianca Matlock had 17 points, and Armonnie Byrd added 10 points and 12 rebounds on Tuesday to help Las Vegas' girls basketball team to a 51-47 win over visiting Eldorado.

Adrina Collins and Dyonne Peterson each scored 10 points for the Wildcats, who trailed 24-21 at the half. Neither team had more than a six-point lead in the game.

DeAsia Walker led the Sundevils with 28 points.

Arbor View 49, Rancho 44 — At Rancho, Alaysia Reed scored 13 points, and Kalli Hosier added nine points to help the Aggies hold off the Rams.

Maureen Macato scored 20 points for Rancho. Teammate Tatiana Lee added 16 points for the Rams.

Legacy 48, Cheyenne 42 — At Legacy, TaEha Pankey led three double-figure scorers with 15 points to help the Longhorns down the Desert Shields.

Allanah Subira had 12 points, and C'Aree Stevenson scored 10 for Legacy, which used a 14-8 third-quarter run to break a halftime tie.

Koreyl Godbolt led Cheyenne with 10 points.

Shadow Ridge 43, Moapa Valley 32 — At Overton, Lauryn Calo scored 16 points to lead the Mustangs by the Pirates.

Shadow Ridge used a 20-5 second-quarter run to take a 27-13 halftime lead.

Tapanga Durham had 11 points, and Kinlee Marshall scored 10 for Moapa Valley.

Faith Lutheran 59, Virgin Valley 36 — At Mesquite, Sam Caruth scored 20 of her 24 points in the middle two quarters as the Crusaders downed the Bulldogs.

Madison Bocobo added eight points for Faith Lutheran.

Savannah Price led Virgin Valley with eight points.

Green Valley 70, Durango 48 — At Durango, Brooke Haney had 17 points to lead the Gators past the Trailblazers.

Jamaica Lewis scored 10 points, and Gwen Garcia added nine points for Green Valley, which led 44-19 at the half.

Brittany Romo paced Durango with 15 points.

Desert Oasis 65, Sierra Vista 36 — At Sierra Vista, Mikala Kirby poured in 23 points as the Diamondbacks downed the Mountain Lions.

Sierra Mich'l had 12 points, and Brianna Clark scored 11 for Desert Oasis, which led 40-22 at the half.

Alexis Hansen and Iymoni Burrell each had seven points for Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley 60, Boulder City 25 — At Spring Valley, Kayla Harris had 14 points to lead the Grizzlies over the Eagles.

Essence Booker added nine points and 12 assists for Spring Valley, which led 23-3 after the first quarter.

Julia Worrall led Boulder City with eight points.

Basic 43, Cimarron-Memorial 19 — At Cimarron, Happy Butler scored seven of her 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Wolves pulled away from the Spartans.

Amanda Sanchez had seven points for Basic, which trailed 13-11 at the half, but used a 15-1 third-quarter run to take control.

Niara Smith had nine points to lead Cimarron.

Palo Verde 80, Chaparral 42 — At Palo Verde, Brooklyn Cruz had 27 points and six steals to lead the Panthers by the Cowboys.

Paulina Silcox added 18 points for Palo Verde, which led 38-16 at the half. Marcie Goldberg had 11 points, and teammate Kailah Burton scored 10 for the Panthers.

Marcia Hawkins led Chaparral with 21 points, and teammate Jade Hazelton had 12 points.

Foothill 75, Tech 33 — At Foothill, Katey Roquemore had 17 points to power the Falcons by the Roadrunners.

Trinity Betoney added 15 points for Foothill, which raced out to a 56-12 halftime lead.

Victoria Keane had 11 points, and teammate Jasmine Haywood added 10 points to pace Tech.

Centennial 74, Desert Pines 26 — At Centennial, Samantha Thomas scored 14 points as the Bulldogs routed the Jaguars.

Tanjanae Wells, Pam Wilmore and Justice Ethridge added 10 points apiece for Centennial, which led 34-6 after one quarter.

Chrystian Myles led Desert Pines with 17 points.

Liberty 60, Clark 13 — At Liberty, Nancy Caballero had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Celine Quintino had eight points, 11 assists and seven steals as the Patriots routed the Chargers.

Taylor Turney had eight points and 10 steals for Liberty, which led 31-2 after the first quarter.

Pahrump Valley 33, Sunrise Mountain 11 — At Pahrump, Jill Smith scored nine points and grabbed 16 rebounds to help the Trojans beat the Miners.

Andi Bishop added six points for Pahrump Valley, which held Sunrise Mountain scoreless in the first and fourth quarters.

Laughlin 33, Mohave Accelerated (Ariz.) 30 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., the Cougars edged the Patriots.
