Roundup: Kaitlyn Anderson leads Moapa Valley in rout of Chaparral

Kaitlyn Anderson led all scorers with 29 points Friday as Moapa Valley’s girls basketball defeated Chaparral in Overton, 76-38.

Pirates’ Lainey Cornwall also scored 12 points.

Cowboys’ Riahana Davis led the team with 14 points and Alexandria Williams also scored 11 points.

Green Valley 54, Rancho 34 — At Rancho, Temerity Bauer led the Gators with 15 points as they defeated the Rams.

Gators’ Julia Clark also scored 12 points and Shelby Clark scored 11 points.

Rams’ Saipress Jones led the team with 15 points and Kyndall Ricks also scored 11 points.

Centennial 58, Mesquite (Ariz.) 53 — At Gilbert, Arizona, Justice Ethridge led the Bulldogs with 22 points as they defeated the Wildcats in the Tournament of Champions.

Melanie Isbell scored 16 points for the Bulldogs, who out-scored Mesquite 23-9 in the fourth quarter to steal the victory.

Centennial is ranked No. 5 nationally, and Mesquite ranked 10th nationally by USA Today.

Democracy Prep 46, The Meadows 18 — At The Meadows, Sharmayne Finley scored 40 points as she led the Blue Knights to a victory over the Mustangs.

Amaya Williams also scored six points for the Blue Knights.

Mustangs’ Arianna Jones led the team with 12 points.

Selma (Calif.) 60, Bonanza 40 — At Mountain View, Rachel Vieira led all scorers with 22 points as the Bears defeated the Bengals in the Vegas Invitational.

Bengals’ Madeline Gonzalez and Maysan Raleigh each scored 13 points.

Layton Christian (Utah) 66, Mountain View 10 — At Mountain View, Danyale Thomas led all scorers with 20 points as the Eagles rolled past the Saints in the Vegas Invitational.

Layton Christian’s Miranda Soto and Jada Wyms each scored 10 points.
