ROUNDUP: McKnight’s winning shot lifts Panther girls past Spartans

Jenise McKnight drained the winning shot with five seconds remaining Thursday to help Palo Verde’s girls basketball team to a 44-43 win at Cimarron-Memorial.

Jasmin Kiley had 19 points, and Lily Tapusoa scored 11 for the Panthers, who got 10 points from Mikayla Diers.

Traci Parks scored 24 points to pace the Spartans.

Legacy 39, Arbor View 35 — At Legacy, Deja Brown scored seven points during a 19-8 third-quarter run that propelled the Longhorns past the Aggies.

Brown finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists for Legacy, which got nine points from Tori Payne.

Jena Valenzuela led Arbor View with eight points.

Faith Lutheran 48, Cheyenne 30 — At Cheyenne, Kelsey McCourt scored 17 points, and Sam Leonard added 11 points to pace the Crusaders to a win over the Desert Shields.

Lajuana Brown led Cheyenne with 11 points.

Centennial 58, Shadow Ridge 16 — At Shadow Ridge, Jada Brown scored 18 points as the Bulldogs cruised to an easy win over the Mustangs.

Sabriya Brooks had five points for Shadow Ridge.

Durango 50, Spring Valley 47 — At Durango, Jasmine Thomas tallied 16 points, and the Trailblazers built a 33-17 halftime lead before holding on to edge the Grizzlies.

DeTiese Moore had 12 points, and Jessica Stevens scored 10 for Spring Valley.

Sierra Vista 56, Pahrump Valley 23 — At Sierra Vista, Melia Tadytin totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mountain Lions past the Trojans.

Shaunice Epton had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Jasmine Suarez added 14 points and seven assists for Sierra Vista.

Kayla Skilling paced the Trojans with six points.

Desert Oasis 62, Clark 18 — At Clark, Tatiana Kearn scored 12 points, and teammate Auburn Smith chipped in 10 points as the Diamondbacks cruised past the Chargers.

Bobbi Floyd and Ashley Robinson had six points apiece for Clark.

Bishop Gorman 62, Western 23 — At Western, April Rivers posted 19 points, and Zhane Dikes added 11 points as the Gaels routed the Warriors.

Brittany Moreland led the Warriors with 13 points.

Virgin Valley 50, Mojave 36 — At Mesquite, Nikki Arquette led a balanced attack with 10 points, and the Bulldogs outscored the Rattlers, 20-0 in the second quarter on the way to the win.

McCall Grajek and Abbie Barnard each added nine points, and Cassidy Crandall supplied seven points and eight rebounds for Virgin Valley.

Teaira Shorter led Mojave with 15 points.

Adelson School 24, Liberty Baptist 17 — At Adelson School, Morgan Goodelman scored nine points as the Lions rallied from a 6-2 first-quarter deficit to down the Eagles.
