Outlook: Eventual Sunrise Region champion Liberty edged the Pioneers 24-21 in the region semifinals last season. And though there were plenty of key losses to graduation, especially on the defensive side of the ball, expect Canyon Springs to again be among the top teams in the league and region.
Stevenson had a great junior campaign, rushing for 1,203 yards and 10 TDs in earning second team all-state honors.
He should again carry the offense with the help of steady quarterback Alexander.
Alexander completed 56.3 percent of his passes in his first year as a starter last season. He threw for 1,719 yards and 14 touchdowns and was intercepted just four times in earning second team All-Northeast honors.
With plenty of athletic targets, Alexander could post much bigger numbers this season.
Johnson was an all-league pick on both sides of the ball and is back to anchor the lines.
Lopez and Selmon also made the All-Northeast League second team, and should help lead a defensive unit hit hard by graduation.
