Arbor View’s Greg Rogers, Gorman’s coaches to take on Canada
One local player and Bishop Gorman’s coaching staff will participate in the North American Championship football game on Saturday in Orlando, Florida.
Arbor View defensive lineman Greg Rogers will suit up for the U.S. Under-19 National Team when it takes on Canada at 5:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
Rogers, a first-team all-state selection, has committed to play at UCLA.
Bishop Gorman coach Kenny Sanchez will lead the U.S. team as head coach. Gorman assistants Craig Canfield, Bobby Sanchez, Lou Rodriguez, Christopher Brown, Martrell Fantroy, Scott Cooley, Colt Goodman and Jordan Aguilar also are on the U.S. staff.
Kenny Sanchez led the Gaels to an eighth consecutive state title and third straight mythical national championship last season.
