Five early touchdowns enough as Tonopah downs Sandy Valley

Tonopah scored five touchdowns in the first quarter Thursday to beat host Sandy Valley, 69-28.

Tyler Kirkland had only three catches for Tonopah (6-3, 4-3 Class 1A Southern League), but he made them count to the tune of 117 yards and three touchdowns. Tanner Otteson and Vinny Bagarose combined for 282 yards rushing and four touchdowns.

Sandy Valley (1-6, 1-6) outscored Tonoaph 14-8 in the third quarter.
