Freshman leads Panthers past Muckers

Pahranagat Valley freshman Tabor Maxwell threw for 255 yards with four touchdown passes to lead the Panthers (3-0) to a 44-0 road victory over Virginia City on Friday.

Maxwell had TD tosses to four receivers. He connected on a 19-yard scoring strike to Wade Leavitt with 11:04 to go in the second quarter, and added a 10-yard TD pass to Caleb Hansen with 3:50 to go in the half.

He added two third-quarter TD passes — a 15-yarder to Jeremy Minick and a 42-yarder to Jordan Cryts — to close out the scoring for Pahranagat Valley.

Hansen had TD runs of 4 and 27 yards in the first quarter to help the Panthers take control early.

Leavitt had 14 carries for 70 yards, and also caught four catches for 85 yards.

Jake Carter led the defense with eight tackles and 2½ sacks.
