Stars rally to top Saints

Agassi Prep’s Tank Carter ran for a 22-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter ,and DeVonn Porter added a 41-yard score to help the Stars (3-1, 3-0 2A Southern) break a 16-16 tie and beat Mountain View (2-4, 1-2) 30-16 on  Friday at Rancho.

Porter also scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter, and LeShaun Sims caught an 11-yard TD pass from Terrell Kemp in the second.

Mountain View’s T.J. Engel passed for 143 yards, ran for 48 and scored a touchdown both ways. Trevor Van Kempen caught six passes for 106 yards and a TD, and Jacob Duldulao rushed for 97 yards.

Palo Verde erupts for 55-35 victory over Faith Lutheran

The win pushed Palo Verde one game ahead of Faith Lutheran in the Northwest League and set up next week’s showdown with first-place Arbor View.
