GOLF: Jack Trent leads Palo Verde past Coronado

Jack Trent carded a 3-under-par 69 on Thursday to lead Palo Verde’s boys golf team to a 374-384 victory over Coronado at Anthem.

Cole Wilzcek added a 70 for the Panthers, and teammate Cameron Meeks shot 73.

Joey Dotta shot 72 to lead Coronado.

Bishop Gorman edges Foothill

At Bear’s Best, Mitchell Abbott shot 1-over 37 to lead Bishop Gorman to a 198-199 win over Foothill in a nine-hole match.

Foothill’s Brandon Maroushek and Alex Friday each shot 38, followed by five golfers at 40.

All-state teams to be announced in June

All-state teams in all eight spring sports will be released one per day, beginning on June 6 with boys golf.
