ROUNDUP: Bernal lifts Clark boys soccer past Pahrump Valley

Salvador Bernal scored twice Monday, including the winning goal with 10 minutes remaining, to lift Clark to a 2-1 home win over Pahrump Valley in boys soccer.

Daimon Nelson scored for the Trojans in a match that was halted twice due to lightning.

Bonanza 2, Spring Valley 0 — At Bonanza, Chad Smith scored and assisted on Frazier Berman’s goal as the Bengals won a match that was called due to rain approximately four minutes into the second half.

Jessie Madrid had four saves in earning the shutout.

Bishop Gorman 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, John Vaccaro had two goals and an assist to lift the Gaels over the Trailblazers in a match that was halted 10 minutes into the second half.

Sean Zaher also scored for Gorman.

Jake O’Rourke made four saves to earn the shutout.

Western 5, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Jose Ponce scored a pair of goals to lead the Warriors to the easy win.

Nelson Ponce, Eddie Hernandez and Felipo Medina each added a goal for Western, which led 3-0 at halftime.

Juan Martinez posted the shutout.

Three matches postponed due to rain — The three Northeast League openers scheduled for Monday were all postponed due to rain.

No makeup dates were available for the Rancho at Valley, Las Vegas at Eldorado, and Desert Pines at Canyon Springs matches.
