ROUNDUP: McGovern’s busy defensive effort helps Gators hand Skyhawks first loss

Phillip McGovern logged 16 saves Thursday as Green Valley’s boys soccer team notched a 2-0 win to hand visiting Silverado (5-1-2) its first loss of the season.
Dylan Rogo’s goal gave Green Valley (5-4-2) a 1-0 halftime lead, and Ivan Rodriguez added a goal in the second half.
Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Jesus Maciel, Jordan Yergenson and Chance Phifer each tallied a goal as the Cougars ran their season-long unbeaten streak to 14 matches by downing the Wolves.
Danny Sellitti made two saves to earn the shutout for the Cougars (7-0-7).
Del Sol 4, Foothill 1 — At Del Sol, Jose Osorio had two goals and an assist, and Eric Beil added a goal and two assists as the Dragons topped the Falcons.
Luis Rodriguez also scored for Del Sol.
Christian Volesky tallied Foothill’s goal.
Tech 6, Liberty 0 — At Tech, Rafael Munoz and Jesus Herrera each netted two goals in the Roadrunners’ rout of the Patriots.
Luis Carranza and Edwin Lopez added a goal apiece for Tech, which got two assists each from Salvador Garcia and Oscar Velazquez.
Abdel Rodriguez and Angel Gomez combined on the shutout.

Canyon Springs 2, Rancho 1 —
 At Rancho, Ramon Sandoval and Victor Gines each scored early in the second half to lift the Pioneers past the Rams.
Marcus Hanselman trimmed the Rams’ deficit to 2-1 midway through the half.
Las Vegas 5, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Las Vegas High, Eduardo Paz scored two goals as the Wildcats did all of their scoring in the first half and breezed past the Miners.
Eduardo Perez, Erick Fedde and Jibron Miller added a goal apiece for Las Vegas.
Roger Zaragoza made two saves in recording the shutout.
Valley 5, Chaparral 1 — At Valley, Juan Carlos Gomez notched three goals, and Julio Borjas added a goal and two assists as the Vikings cruised past the Cowboys.
Tony Velazquez had a goal and an assist for Valley.
Miguel Lopez converted a penalty kick for Chaparral’s goal.
Eldorado 1, Desert Pines 0 — At Eldorado, Onofre Mesa tallied a second-half goal on a pass from Edgar Duran to send the Sundevils past the Jaguars.
Danny Perez was in goal to earn the shutout for Eldorado.
The Meadows 13, Adelson School 1 — At The Meadows, Toby Warburton scored five goals, and Alex Karabachev added three goals and two assists in the Mustangs' rout of the Lions.
Marco Lorico-Rappa tallied two goals and an assist, and Corin Galati, Austin Lee and Ken Mang added a goal apiece. Galati also had four assists.
Mendy Berrebi scored for Adelson.
GIRLS
Faith Lutheran 0, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Kellogg-Zahre Park, the Crusaders and Trojans played to a scoreless tie.
Jessica Forage made 15 saves for Faith Lutheran.
Madzia DeSalvo made seven saves for Pahrump.
Boulder City 7, Moapa Valley 1 — At Boulder City, Tasja Toumasis tallied two goals as the Eagles blitzed the Pirates.
Marque Waldo, Jenna Silitoe, Ashlyn Jorgensen, Caitlin Donnelly and Gabriela Correales scored a goal apiece for Boulder City.
Kylee Evans accounted for Moapa Valley’s lone goal.
Virgin Valley 4, Adelson School 0 — At Adelson School, Gabby Paongo scored two goals, and teammates Karsen Bryant and Hailey Jones each scored a goal to help the Bulldogs blank the Lions.
Jessica Haun had two assists for Virgin Valley.
Myrissa Bunker was in goal for the shutout.
