2014 Chaparral Girls Soccer Capsule

CHAPARRAL

Head coach: Jill Yacubovich, first season

2013 record: 3-11 (3-9 Sunrise, sixth)

Returning letter winners (starters): One (one)

Top athletes: MF Fatima Fernandez (Sr.), D Lilian Camarena (Sr.)

Outlook: Yacubovich inherits a team with only one returnee, but a hunger for success.

“Chaparral is a very young team with only one returning varsity player, but it does not stop us from having high expectations for the upcoming season,” Yacubovich said. “The team was under great direction last year with coach Ric Grenell, and we plan to continue to build on those solid foundations and improve our record this season.

“These ladies have put in a lot of time in the weight room and into conditioning this offseason and are ready to play.”
