2014 Eldorado Girls Soccer Capsule

Head coach: David Ostler, third season

2013 record: 14-4-2 (6-3-1 Southeast, third)

Returning letter winners (starters): Eight (four)

Top athletes: F Tyana Slocum (So.), MF Cristal Mendoza (Sr.), MF Brianna Duran (So.)

Outlook: Graduation hit the Sundevils hard as the team lost 12 players, including its entire starting defense and key midfielders.

“One could say we are starting from scratch,” Ostler said. “However, the roster is not devoid of talent. Kimberly Tapia, Madison Granger and Cristal Mendoza should provide senior leadership and work ethic, and a trio of talented sophomores – Tyana Slocum, Brianna Duran and Dariana Mayoral-Osuna – will play key roles in getting this team into the playoffs.”
