ROUNDUP: Olive’s free kick lifts Virgin Valley girls over Pahrump Valley

Virgin Valley goalkeeper Jacque Olive scored on a free kick in the final minute to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 victory over visiting Pahrump Valley in girls soccer on Thursday.

Virgin Valley’s AnnaLee Aragaz, and Pahrump’s Samantha Sposato each scored in the first half.

Faith Lutheran 5, Boulder City 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Kari Maloney and Sydney Spoon each scored two goals as the Crusaders defeated the Eagles.

Krystal Onyema added a goal, and Marissa Fehrman earned the shutout.

Goalie Kirsten Kircher made 12 saves, and Camden Berry and Kennedy Enus led the defense as Bishop Gorman held off Palo Verde’s late rally for a 3-2 win at Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex.

3A girls: Ava Seelenfreund’s hat trick seals Pahrump’s fate

Ava Seelenfreund finished with a hat trick and an assist as the Wolverines overwhelmed Pahrump Valley 7-0 to advance to the state championship game at noon Saturday against South Tahoe (24-2).
