2017 The Meadows Softball Capsule

Head coach: Kim Jacobs, second season

2016 record: 6-15 (6-10 Division III Southern, fifth)

Returning letter winners (starters): Seven (three)

Top players: P/IF Rachel Siegel (Jr.), OF Hillary Giang (So.), IF Hailie Monkarsh (Fr.)

Outlook: A large class graduated last year, leaving the Mustangs with only three returning starters.

“We lost a big number of seniors from last year’s team,” Jacobs said. “We are a young team with no seniors. This will be a growing year as we have four freshmen with no softball experience and three sophomores with very little exposure to the game.”
