Roundup: Dominant pitching helps Bishop Gorman in California

Sarah Aguilar pitched a shutout to lead Bishop Gorman’s softball team to a 3-0 road win over Savanna (California) in the Savanna Tournament on Thursday afternoon past the Rebels.

Aguilar scattered two hits over seven innings and fanned three to pick up the win.

Hayley Coreas went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored to lead the Gaels at the plate.

Coronado 18, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas High, Tatum Spangler tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and no earned runs as the Cougars blasted the Wildcats in three innings.

Spangler finished 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Isabel Rodriguez had two hits and three RBIs for Coronado, which scored nine runs in the second.

Angelina Visitacion provided Las Vegas’ one hit and run.

Chaparral 14, Western 1 — At Chaparral, Losi Brown threw a two-hitter and went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Cowboys to the five-inning win over the Warriors.

Brown struck out six.

Losa Laolagi went 3-for-4 with a double for Chaparral.

Moapa Valley 20, Desert Pines 4 — At Overton, Sierra Harding was 2-for-3 with four RBIs as the Pirates pounced on the Jaguars.

Aria Messer went 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs and an RBI for Moapa Valley, which got two hits and three RBIs from Hanna Mortensen. Emile Barraza earned the win for the Pirates.

Mireyah Ortiz supplied two hits to pace Desert Pines.

Cheyenne 16, Del Sol 6 — At Del Sol, Hannah Tennant went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Desert Shields past the Dragons.

Madelynn Kennedy went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs. She also pitched five innings in relief of Tennant to pick up the win.

Victoria Rosales and Danica Lund also doubled for the Desert Shields.

Shadow Ridge 21, Cimarron-Memorial 6 — At Shadow Ridge, Shea Clements and Raelyn Kendall each went 4-for-4 as the Mustangs dominated the Spartans in four innings.

Caitlyn Covington supplied three hits for Shadow Ridge, which got two hits apiece from Mia Voges, Jasmine Martin and Sydney Morgan.

Diona Whitley and Mya’Liah Bethea each provided an RBI double for Cimarron.

Palo Verde 17, Arbor View 5 — At Arbor View, Makall Whetten doubled, tripled, hit a grand slam, drove in six runs and scored three times to lead the Panthers past the Aggies.

Grace Chavez went 4-for-5 with a double, a 3-run homer, had five RBIs and scored twice for the Panthers, who blew the game open with a five-run second inning.

Alyssa Lybbert and Makena Martin also doubled for the Panthers. Martin threw five innings to pick up the win.

Hannah Hickstein went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI to lead the Aggies at the plate.

Mojave 16, Tech 5 — At Tech, Jessica Ortiz doubled and drove in three RBIs to lead the Rattlers past the Roadrunners.

Hayli Greenberg allowed five runs over five innings to pick up the win.

Emmily Wilson doubled and drove in a run for the Roadrunners.

Centennial 15, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Jacqueline Perez-Mena went 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs to help the Bulldogs finish the Longhorns in three innings.

Samantha Lawrence and Amanda Sink were both 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Centennial, and Abby Hanley earned the win and shutout.

Angel Ortiz singled for Legacy.

Boulder City 15, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Boulder City, Lily Osman was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBIs to help the Eagles blank the Miners.

Abby Giunta was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, and Jerra Hinson added a double two RBIs.

Felicity Crandall was 1-for-1 for Sunrise Mountain.

La Quinta (Calif.) 17, Bishop Gorman 4 — At Savanna, California, Darian Pancirov doubled and drove in a run as the Gaels fell to the Aztecs.

Monache (Calif.) 7, Rancho 1 — At Fresno, California, Chloe Rivas tossed a six-inning three-hitter and struck out 12 as the Marauders downed the Rams in the Washington Union Invitational.

Rivas also had two hits and drove in two runs for Monache.

Madera (Calif.) 10, Rancho 0 — At Fresno, California, the Coyotes topped the Rams in four innings in the Washington Union Invitational.
