Boys state singles/doubles quarterfinal results

Following are the results of Friday’s quarterfinal matches and Saturday’s semifinal pairings for the boys Class 4A state tennis tournament, being held at Carson High School in Carson City.

The semifinals are scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday with the championships and third-place matches to follow at 1 p.m.

Boys singles

Evan Song (Green Valley) d. James TenBroeck (Douglas), 6-3, 6-4.

Brandon Parker (Palo Verde) d. Colton Pate (Coronado), 6-1, 6-1.

Stan Breland (Palo Verde) d. Phillip Hinojosa (Bishop Manogue), 6-3, 6-4.

Jeff Mullen (Reno) d. Andrew Rapahelson (Bishop Gorman), 6-2, 6-3.

Palo Verde’s Michael Andre rolls to 4A singles title

Palo Verde’s Michael Andre rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Green Valley’s Andre Millet to capture the boys singles championship in his first year of high school tennis.

Clark, Palo Verde win to set up rematch in title

Clark rolled to a 14-4 victory over Reno in the state semifinals at Bishop Mangoue on Thursday to set up a rematch with the two-time defending state champion Panthers, who beat Coronado, 11-7, in the other semifinal.
