Roundup: Basic earns five-set win over Rancho

Basic’s Skylar Freitas had 19 kills to lead the Wolves to a 25-16, 18-25, 24-26, 25-17, 15-9 boys volleyball victory over visiting Rancho.

Dallas Green had five blocks, Trevor Robbins had 11 digs and Taulima DeVoux dished out 20 assists for the Wolves.

Brennan Berti had 21 kills and three blocks to lead the Rams, and teammate Jesus Gonzalez added 33 assists and seven digs.

Cheyenne 3, Del Sol 2 — At Cheyenne, Ryan Buchanan had 15 kills and four blocks as the Desert Shields held on to beat the Dragons, 25-15, 25-18, 24-26, 23-25, 17-15.

Anthony Walker had 14 kills and three aces for Cheyenne. Brian Orellana had 38 assists and 13 digs, and Ethan Cruz had 25 digs for the Desert Shields.

Alejandro Marin had 16 kills and 17 digs for Del Sol. Angel Vargas had 16 assists and 10 digs, Alan Ramos-Flores had 13 assists, five digs and three aces, and Tyrell Hampton had eight kills, eight digs and five blocks for the Dragons.

Eldorado 3, Boulder City 2 — At Boulder City, Adrian Evans had 20 kills and five digs as the Sundevils edged the Eagles, 21-25, 30-28, 20-25, 25-8, 15-13.

Dahlton Stack had 15 kills, and Joseph Peralta added seven kills for Eldorado.

Boen Huxford notched 19 assists and five aces for Boulder City. Preston Jorgensen supplied 18 kills, and Karson Bailey added 10 kills for the Eagles.

Coronado 3, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Ben Bloss had 19 kills and five digs to lead the Cougars past the Skyhawks, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Matt Wilson had seven kills, 17 assists and 10 digs, Alex White had two kills and 26 assists, and Andrew Corrales had 19 digs for Coronado.

Tyler Olson had 17 kills and five blocks to lead Silverado. Jon Francis had 15 kills and six digs, and Sean Borla had four kills and 14 digs for the Skyhawks.

Las Vegas 3, Liberty 1 — At Las Vegas High, Shaun Kampshoff supplied 19 kills and 19 assists in the Wildcats’ 26-24, 25-22, 18-25, 25-19 win over the Patriots.

Kevin Sweitzer had 23 assists, and Ashton Barney added 21 digs for Las Vegas, which got 16 kills from Jorge Hernandez.

Martin Velasco dished out 30 assists, and teammate Atapana Malele-Faaifo had 24 digs to lead Liberty. Pascual Chavez had 17 kills, and Troy-Toese Fautanu tallied 10 kills for the Patriots.

Foothill 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Tanner Lester supplied 11 kills, eight aces and six digs to lead the Falcons to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-17 sweep of the Pioneers.

Troy Bell had 10 kills, and Sawyer Campbell tallied nine assists for Foothill.

Green Valley 3, Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Grayson Boyce had seven kills and dive aces to lead the Gators to a 25-16, 25-18, 25-13 victory over the Vikings.

Tanner Webb added six kills and four blocks, and Devon Ainslie had five aces for Green Valley.

Mojave 3, Chaparral 0 — At Mojave, Tredall Blanchard-Davis had eight aces, seven kills and seven digs as the Rattlers beat the Cowboys, 25-15, 25-20, 25-18.

Nathaniel Arredondo had 27 assists, 14 digs and two aces for Mojave, and teammate Daronde McKinney had 12 kills and six digs.

Michael Jones added 28 digs and three aces for the Rattlers.

Sky Pointe 3, Tech 0 — At Sky Pointe, Jaegen Driscoll had 20 kills and three aces to lead the Eagles to a 25-18, 25-18, 25-4 sweep of the Roadrunners.

Jaden MacFarlane had six kills, and Carson Driscoll dished out 26 assists for Sky Pointe.

Desert Pines 3, Western 1 — At Western, the Jaguars defeated the Warriors, 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 28-26.

Bernardo Jimenez-Pascual supplied 40 assists, and Russell Buban put down 16 kills to lead Western. Javier Silva had 12 kills and Jason McCoy added 11 kills for the Warriors.

Stearman’s sixth kill of the fifth set allowed the Falcons to complete a 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11 comeback and advance to both Friday’s region final and next week’s state tournament.

Roundup: Kilmor Amor helps Spartans reach Mountain semifinals

Kilmor Amor had 15 kills, 23 assists and 10 digs Wednesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team down Shadow Ridge, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain Region Tournament at Palo Verde.
