Roundup: Matt Wilson posts 77 assists in five-set win over Liberty

Matt Wilson had 77 assists, six digs, three kills, three aces and two blocks Wednesday to power the host Coronado boys volleyball team over Liberty, 25-19, 24-26, 23-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Ben Bloss had 28 kills, 12 digs, two aces and a block for the Cougars, and teammate Alex Winiarczyk had 18 kills, 13 digs and an ace.

Coronado’s Cody Sciabica added 11 kills.

Mojave 3, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Nathaniel Arredondo had 44 assists, and Tredall Blanchard-Davis added 18 kills as the Rattlers outlasted the Dragons, 24-26, 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 15-11.

Samuel Torrence added 13 kills and seven blocks for Mojave.

Alan Ramos-Flores led Del Sol with 17 assists, six digs and four aces, and teammate Angel Vargas tallied 22 assists and seven digs. Alejandro Marin added 16 kills and five digs, and Van Stanley notched 11 kills and two digs for Del Sol.

Tech 3, Boulder City 2 — At Boulder City, Ossian Makin recorded 24 assists, and Eddy Garcia had 11 kills as the Roadrunners squeaked past the Eagles, 24-26, 27-25, 25-19, 17-25, 21-19.

Boen Huxford had 25 assists, five kills and five blocks, and Preston Jorgensen tallied 23 kills for Boulder City.

Foothill 3, Las Vegas 1 — At Foothill, Tanner Lester had 12 kills and 11 digs to help power the Falcons to a 13-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-15 win over the Wildcats.

Dallen Martineau had 11 kills and five blocks, and Truss Erb added eight blocks for Foothill.

Shaun Kampshoff had 14 kills, 12 digs and nine assists to lead Las Vegas. Leander Gates provided 15 digs and 12 kills, and Ashton Barney added 20 digs for the Wildcats.

Green Valley 3, Rancho 1 — At Rancho, Zachary Fedarko supplied 42 assists, 13 digs and four aces to power the Gators to a 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 25-23 win over the Rams.

Kyle Webb had 14 kills and four blocks, and teammate Tanner Webb added eight kills and five blocks for Green Valley.

Jesus Gonzalez notched 34 assists and five digs for Rancho. Adali Rodriguez contributed 12 kills and five digs, and Brennan Berti tallied 14 kills for the Rams.

Basic 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Basic, Taulima DeVoux tallied 17 assists, and Skylar Freitas added 12 kills as the Wolves swept the Pioneers 25-15, 25-15, 25-14.

Colton Banks had seven digs, and Dallas Green notched five blocks for Basic.

Malachi Su’a had 11 assists, and Sirron White supplied seven kills for Canyon Springs.

Chaparral 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Robert McGregor had 18 assists in the Cowboys’ 25-15, 25-18, 26-24 sweep of the Jaguars.

Chris Chavarria and Angel Porras each notched 14 kills for Chaparral, which got 12 assists and four kills from Juan Benitez.

Cheyenne 3, Western 0 — At Cheyenne, Brian Orellana provided 13 assists to help the Desert Shields to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-13 sweep of the Warriors.

Bernardo Jimenez-Pascual led Western with 10 assists.

Valley 3, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Isaac Frazier had nine kills and six digs to lead the Vikings to a 20-25, 25-22, 28-26, 25-19 victory over the Longhorns.

Samuel Karganilla added 25 assists, and Trey Harp had 16 digs for Legacy.

Creed Laws paced Legacy with 14 kills and seven digs. Garrett Linell and Harrison Moore each added seven kills for the Longhorns, who got 27 assists and 12 digs from Nathan Johnson.

Silverado 3, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Sean Borla had nine kills, nine digs and two aces to lead the Skyhawks to a 25-10, 25-16, 15-25, 25-15 win over the Sundevils.

Bravyn Aquino added 33 assists, three aces and six digs for Silverado, which got 11 digs from Owen Cox.

Adrian Evans led Eldorado with 11 kills and three blocks. Dahlton Stack added seven kills and three digs, and Christopher Garcia had 15 assists and three digs for the Sundevils.

Sky Pointe 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Carson Driscoll had 29 assists, and Jaegen Driscoll put down 21 kills as the Eagles swept the Miners, 25-14, 25-15, 25-23.

Jaden MacFarlane added nine kills for Sky Pointe.

Emerald Acasili tallied 12 kills and 12 digs, and Johnny Pedraza notched 19 assists and seven digs for Sunrise Mountain. Anthony Proby-Jensen added 11 kills and seven digs for the Miners.

All-state teams in all eight spring sports will be released one per day, beginning on June 6 with boys golf.
