Roundup: Pascal Chavez leads Liberty past Durango

Pascal Chavez had 25 kills and 11 digs on Thursday to lead Liberty’s boys volleyball team to a 19-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 15-10 win over visiting Durango.

Jordan Wafer added 19 kills, and Sefania Mamea dished out 62 assists for the Patriots, who got 35 digs from Atapana Malele-Faaifo.

Tim Kedrowski led Durango with 12 kills and 16 digs, and teammate Jack Plourde had 43 assists. Bodhe Melver had 18 digs for the Trailblazers.

Boulder City 3, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Karson Bailey had 30 kills to lead the Eagles past the Dragons, 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 27-25, 15-10.

Preston Jorgensen had 15 kills, and Boen Huxford had 28 assists and eight kills for the Eagles. Kenny Rose had 26 assists, and Kannon Rose had 16 digs for Boulder City.

Tyrell Hampton had 18 kills to lead the Dragons. Alex Marin had 13 kills, David Anderson had 10 kills, and Alan Ramos-Flores dished out 48 assists for Del Sol.

Silverado 3, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Silverado, Caden Thomas had 13 kills, one ace, 15 digs and two blocks as the Skyhawks defeated the Gaels 25-17, 25-11, 22-25, 25-21.

Bravyn Aquino had four kills and 25 assists, and Sean Borla had seven kills and four aces for Silverado.

Foothill 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Chandler Higbee had 22 assists and three aces as the Falcons defeated the Grizzlies, 25-14, 25-13, 20-25, 25-12.

Brock Weaver had 13 kills and five digs, and Sawyer Campbell had 10 kills and two blocks for Foothill.

Alan Quach had 40 assists for Spring Valley. Carson Dooley, Mariano Saucedo and Jakob Repolio each had five kills for the Grizzlies.

Coronado 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Alex Winiarczyk had 15 kills, two aces and 13 digs to lift the Cougars over the Roadrunners, 25-20, 25-15, 25-15.

Jacob Ceci had 12 kills, four aces and 10 digs, and Brian Wightman had 13 digs for Coronado.

Clayton Faught dished out nine assists for Tech. Jerin Lacson had three kills, and Andrew Luong added three blocks for the Roadrunners.

Sierra Vista 3, Basic 0 — At Sierra Vista, Croix Reganit had 10 kills, two aces, 10 digs and four blocks as the Mountain Lions defeated the Wolves, 25-15, 25-13, 25-15.

Noah Scott had four kills and two blocks, and Jayden Maiava added five kills for Sierra Vista.

Chris Jepson had four kills, and Oscar Gonzalez added three kills and two blocks for Basic.

Desert Oasis 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Desert Oasis, Liam Morrissey had 12 kills and two aces to help the Diamondbacks to a 25-23, 25-20, 25-16 win over the Desert Shields.

Gage Sarna dished out 19 assists, and Josh Bastin had nine kills and five aces for Desert Oasis. Max Pretner had seven kills and six digs, and Ethan Kovach added 12 digs for the Diamondbacks.

Victavion Conway-Fox had seven kills, and Ryan Buchanan had six kills and six assists for Cheyenne. Denzell Brown had 14 assists for the Desert Shields.

Ceci put the finishing touches on a 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11 victory over the Falcons with a thunderous kill in the fifth and final set, clinching Coronado’s first region championship since 2013.

Roundup: Caleb Stearman helps Foothill into Desert final

Stearman’s sixth kill of the fifth set allowed the Falcons to complete a 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11 comeback and advance to both Friday’s region final and next week’s state tournament.

Roundup: Kilmor Amor helps Spartans reach Mountain semifinals

Kilmor Amor had 15 kills, 23 assists and 10 digs Wednesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team down Shadow Ridge, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain Region Tournament at Palo Verde.
