VOLLEYBALL: Centennial takes down Las Vegas in five sets

Sam Belnap dished out 48 assists to help the Centennial boys volleyball team to a 20-25, 25-15, 24-26, 25-15, 15-11 victory over Las Vegas at home Tuesday.

Kade Frischknecht had 25 kills, 11 digs and five aces for Centennial. Farries Gardner supplied 11 kills and seven aces, and teammate Braedon Tarone notched 22 digs for Centennial.

Shaun Kampshoff contributed 19 assists, 10 kills and nine digs to lead Las Vegas.

Brandon Kampshoff tallied 14 kills and 10 digs, and Kyle Monton added 15 digs for the Wildcats.

Liberty 3, Desert Oasis 2 — At Desert Oasis, Hugo Hernandez recorded 38 assists on the way to a 23-25, 20-25, 27-25, 25-22, 15-13 comeback victory.

Lucas Husli had 15 kills and Troy Fautanu added seven blocks for Liberty.

Liam Morrissey led Desert Oasis with 13 kills with two blocks. Joshua Sadama had 28 assists while his brother Tyler added 24 assists.

Arbor View 3, Durango 1 — At Durango, Carson Driscoll passed out 51 assists and Treven Clizbe tallied 11 kills as the Aggies topped the Trailblazers 25-21, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23.

Brenden Wagner added eight kills for Arbor View.

Andre Shabazz recorded 32 assists, 12 digs, three aces and two blocks and Jaylen Clark tallied 15 kills and 14 digs for Durango. Filip Bosnajak added seven kills, six digs and two aces for Durango.

Silverado 3, Valley 1 — At Valley, Jaden Mohler had 23 assists, 13 digs and two aces and Cody Steckel tallied 10 digs, seven kills and four aces as the Skyhawks beat the Vikings 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 25-13.

Jaden Keomaka added 11 kills, eight digs and two blocks for Silverado. Isaac Frazier had eight kills and seven digs and Hunter Harp supplied 11 digs for Valley.

Shadow Ridge 3, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, C.J. McInnis tallied 29 assists, eight digs, and five kills to help the Mustangs to a 25-17, 25-17, 25-12 sweep of the Gators.

Tanner Franklin added 12 digs and seven kills for Shadow Ridge. Travis Hoadley had 22 digs, and teammate Sebastian Campos added 10 kills for the Mustangs.

Tanner Casto put up 12 digs to pace Green Valley.

Legacy 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Legacy, Matthew Cook had 20 assists to power the Longhorns to a 25-8, 25-23, 25-13 win over the Jaguars.

Dominic Harris had 15 kills and five digs for Legacy, which got seven kills and six assists from Christian Brown.

Luis Rodriguez led Desert Pines with seven digs.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Western 0 — At Western, Edher Aldaco dished out 20 assists to lead the Spartans to a 25-11, 25-20, 25-11 sweep of the Warriors.

Erick Forbush added five kills for Cimarron.

Basic 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Trevor Robbins tallied 13 kills, three aces and two digs, and Matt Gajeski had 27 assists and two kills as the Wolves swept the Chargers 25-13, 25-13, 25-12.

Christopher Ramirez had nine assists and nine digs and Kizihonie Blunt supplied eight kills and seven digs for Clark.

Cheyenne 3, Eldorado 0 — At Cheyenne, Ryan Buchanan supplied 16 assists and two blocks to lead the Desert Shields to a 25-20, 28-26, 25-18 win over the Sundevils.

Tyler Buchanan notched seven kills and five aces for Cheyenne.

Keyunte Schroeder had four blocks to pace Eldorado.

Rancho 3, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Jesus Gonzalez had 12 assists and eight digs, and Tristan King provided nine kills and four blocks, helping the Rams sweep the Falcons 25-17, 25-11, 27-25.

Cameron Corcran tallied 13 assists and Mohammed Abushanab supplied 10 digs for Rancho.

Caleb Stearman led Foothill with 11 assists, seven kills and five digs and teammate Troy Bell had 13 digs and three aces.. Nikko Lopez added 11 assists for the Falcons.

All-state teams to be announced in June

All-state teams in all eight spring sports will be released one per day, beginning on June 6 with boys golf.

Class 4A: Palo Verde rolls to state title

Desert Region: Freshman Jacob Ceci helps Cougars top Foothill

Ceci put the finishing touches on a 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11 victory over the Falcons with a thunderous kill in the fifth and final set, clinching Coronado’s first region championship since 2013.

Roundup: Caleb Stearman helps Foothill into Desert final

Stearman’s sixth kill of the fifth set allowed the Falcons to complete a 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11 comeback and advance to both Friday’s region final and next week’s state tournament.

Roundup: Kilmor Amor helps Spartans reach Mountain semifinals

Kilmor Amor had 15 kills, 23 assists and 10 digs Wednesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team down Shadow Ridge, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain Region Tournament at Palo Verde.
