VOLLEYBALL: Clow, Jensen lead Bengals by Gaels

Brian Clow had 15 kills and 13 digs, and Andrew Jensen added 11 kills and nine digs Wednesday to help Bonanza’s boys volleyball team to a 24-26, 25-11, 30-28, 25-14 win at Bishop Gorman.

Josh Lee had 39 assists and six digs, and Kellen Layne supplied eight kills and five digs for the Bengals, who got 21 digs from Adam Puckoris.

Tony Pitaro paced the Gaels with 25 kills and four blocks. Chris Shea added 18 kills and three aces, and Cody Tom had 45 assists and four digs for Gorman.

Legacy 3, Centennial 0 — At Centennial, Tanner Compton had 12 kills, three digs and two aces, and Braden Liu tallied 32 assists and five kills as the Longhorns swept the Bulldogs 25-18, 25-14, 25-15.

Trent Compton contributed 11 kills and seven digs, and Anthony Madden added three blocks for Legacy.

Chet Durkin recorded 20 assists, nine digs and three kills, and Tanner Durkin notched 12 kills and two blocks for Centennial, which got five kills from Parker Grimes.

Desert Oasis 3, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Desert Oasis, Saunoa Afoa had 12 kills and 22 assists to help the Diamondbacks outlast the Spartans, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-2.

Devin Lewis had 14 kills and five blocks, and Ailey Asulin dished out 28 assists for Desert Oasis.

Dallas Cervantes paced Cimarron with 12 kills and 19 digs. Nate Starlin added 27 assists and 20 digs, and Roy Gonzalez had 10 kills, 16 digs and five blocks for the Spartans.

Sierra Vista 3, Silverado 1 — At Sierra Vista, Julius Sison supplied 33 assists and 12 digs to lead the Mountain Lions to a 16-25, 25-22, 25-23, 28-26 win over the Skyhawks.

Calvin Liang had 19 digs and nine kills, and Clyde Balagtas added 13 kills and eight digs for Sierra Vista.

Cody Steckel notched 33 assists and 10 digs, and Travis Houston contributed 23 digs for Silverado, which got nine kills from Jeremiah Ward.

Coronado 3, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Logan Dickover had 44 assists, six digs and two kills, and Dallin Bryan notched 16 kills, five digs and two aces to help the Cougars beat the Falcons 25-17, 26-24, 25-20.

Max Osmundson tallied 10 kills, eight digs and two aces, and Travis Boman had 13 kills and five digs for Coronado, which got 14 digs from Samuel Cox.

Shilo Chow had 17 assists and three digs, and Victor Senn added nine kills and four digs for Foothill, which got seven kills and five blocks from Ryan Briggs.

Eldorado 3, Liberty 1 — At Eldorado, Michael Thomas dished out 40 assists, and Dakota Shults spiked 16 kills as the Sundevils beat the Patriots 19-25, 27-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Jacob Hollingsworth tallied 13 kills and five blocks, and Jacob Tibbs notched 12 kills and five blocks for Eldorado, which got 10 blocks from Charles Swee.

Carlos Rossil had 12 kills for Liberty.

Basic 3, Del Sol 0 — At Basic, Taylor Dyer dished out 25 assists to lead the Wolves to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-13 sweep of the Dragons.

Austin Delacarrera put down six kills, and Brad McDonald and Calvin Knuppel each added five kills for Basic.

Andrei Santamaria supplied seven digs, and Joe Nehme had five blocks to lead Del Sol.

Mojave 3, Western 0 — At Western, Matt Albinio recorded 12 kills and nine blocks, and Jovan Carrazco had 28 assists and five aces to help the Rattlers sweep the Warriors 25-5, 25-10, 25-11.

Absalom Williams had seven kills and four blocks, and Lorenzo Guerrero supplied 10 digs and three aces for Mojave.

Manuel Guillermo had 13 digs to lead Western.

Clark 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Walt Benda had 12 kills and five aces to help the Chargers to a 25-15, 25-15, 23-25, 25-13 win over the Desert Shields.

Walter Regalado served 10 aces, and teammate Henok Mucheye added four kills and two blocks for Clark.

Deonte Perkins had nine kills and three aces, and Manoa Puletasi contributed 11 assists and two aces for Cheyenne.

Stearman’s sixth kill of the fifth set allowed the Falcons to complete a 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11 comeback and advance to both Friday’s region final and next week’s state tournament.

Roundup: Kilmor Amor helps Spartans reach Mountain semifinals

Kilmor Amor had 15 kills, 23 assists and 10 digs Wednesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team down Shadow Ridge, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain Region Tournament at Palo Verde.
