VOLLEYBALL: Devin Ross, Silverado defeat visiting Rancho in four sets

Devin Ross had eight kills and two blocks Monday to lead Silverado’s boys volleyball team to a 25-13, 18-25, 25-22, 25-15 home win over Rancho.

Jaden Mohler added 21 assists and had two blocks for the Skyhawks.

Brennan Berti led Rancho with 11 kills and three blocks. Tiger Tokunaga added nine kills, two aces and 11 digs for the Rams.

Green Valley 3, Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Cooper Burgess had seven kills and three blocks to lead the Gators past the Vikings, 25-9, 25-14, 25-15.

Zachary Fedarko added four aces and six digs for Green Valley.

Isaac Frazier had four kills to lead Valley. Hunter Harp had seven digs and Justin Sandoval had 11 assists for the Vikings.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cimarron, Erick Forbush had 10 kills to lead the Spartans to a 25-22, 25-14, 25-22 victory over the Desert Shields.

Jameson Valencia added nine kills and four digs for Cimarron.

Tyler Buchanan led Cheyenne with 10 kills, and teammate Ryan Buchanan added 15 assists.

Palo Verde 3, Bonanza 0 — At Palo Verde, Soctt Solan had 14 kills and seven aces to lead the Panthers to a 25-16, 25-21, 25-12 sweep of the Bengals.

Stephen Banks added eight kills and two blocks, Grant Tingey had seven kills, and Haden Van Orden dished out 29 assists for the Panthers.

Mataio Valoaja had three kills and five blocks, and Mark Thuet had five kills, four digs and two blocks to lead Bonanza.

James Mead had 15 assists, and Victor Fajardo added eight assists for the Bengals.

Canyon Springs 3, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, the Pioneers defeated the Dragons, 14-25, 18-25, 25-9, 20-25.

Joseph Snure led Del Sol with 10 kills. Yerovys Vargas-Gill added eight kills, and Ralph Mallare had 15 kills and two aces for the Dragons.

All-state teams to be announced in June

All-state teams in all eight spring sports will be released one per day, beginning on June 6 with boys golf.

Class 4A: Palo Verde rolls to state title

Senior Scott Solan had 13 kills, six digs and three aces as the Panthers defeated Coronado 25-15, 25-19, 25-16 on Thursday to win their fifth state championship.

Ceci put the finishing touches on a 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11 victory over the Falcons with a thunderous kill in the fifth and final set, clinching Coronado’s first region championship since 2013.

Roundup: Caleb Stearman helps Foothill into Desert final

Stearman’s sixth kill of the fifth set allowed the Falcons to complete a 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11 comeback and advance to both Friday’s region final and next week’s state tournament.

Roundup: Kilmor Amor helps Spartans reach Mountain semifinals

Kilmor Amor had 15 kills, 23 assists and 10 digs Wednesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team down Shadow Ridge, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain Region Tournament at Palo Verde.
