VOLLEYBALL: Peterson, Makaiwi lead Mustangs by Bulldogs

Shadow Ridge’s Quinn Peterson posted 26 kills, three digs and two aces, and Nathan Makaiwi dished out 39 assists as the Mustangs edged visiting Centennial 25-22, 27-25, 29-27 on Friday.

Carter Jackson had 11 kills and four digs, and A.J. Makaiwi led Shadow Ridge’s defense with 25 digs to go along with two aces. Nicholas Holman added seven digs and two aces for the Mustangs.

Chet Durkin finished with 34 assists, five kills, seven digs and two blocks to lead Centennial.

Tanner Polley notched 11 kills and five digs, and Terrell Hicks had nine kills and two blocks for the Bulldogs.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Western 0 — At Cimarron, Dallas Cervantes had 10 kills and 10 digs to help the Spartans roll to a 25-19, 25-18, 25-18 victory over the Warriors.

Roy Gonzalez added 10 digs, five kills and three blocks for Cimarron, and teammate Will Baird had seven kills and four digs.

William Riggs had eight assists, six digs and three aces, and Manuel Guillermo added eight digs and three aces for Western.
