VOLLEYBALL: Silverado rallies to top Desert Oasis

Tyler Olsen had 10 kills and seven blocks as Silverado’s boys volleyball team rallied for a 21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-12, 15-13 road victory over Desert Oasis on Thursday.

Cody Steckel added eight kills and 20 digs, and Jaden Keomaka had six kills, eight digs and three blocks for the Skyhawks.

Joshua Sadama led the Diamondbacks with 26 assists and six digs. RaShawn Dean added seven kills, and David Toole had six kills for Desert Oasis.

Bishop Gorman 3, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Gorman, Will Hafen had 16 kills and 15 digs to lead the Gaels to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 sweep of the Mustangs.

Charles Pollnow notched 20 digs and 10 kills, and teammate Trevor Papock added 34 assists for Gorman.

C.J. McInnis led Shadow Ridge with 28 assists and nine digs. Travis Hoadley had 20 digs, and Derek Robnett added 15 digs and eight kills for the Mustangs.

Arbor View 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Arbor View, Treven Clizbe had 14 kills to lead the Aggies past the Mountain Lions, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

Brenden Wagner had 12 kills, Jake Reid had seven kills, and Carson Driscoll dished out 36 assists for Arbor View.

Chris McCoy had seven kills and six digs to lead the Sierra Vista. Frank Hines added six kills for the Mountain Lions.

Eldorado 3, Chaparral 0 — At Eldorado, Adrian Evans had 11 kills and five aces to lead the Sundevils over the Cowboys, 25-13, 25-17, 25-19.

Tim Lawson had four kills, two aces and 21 assists, and teammate Joseph Peralta had four kills for the Sundevils.

Valley 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Valley, Isaac Frazier had six kills and two aces, and Justin Sandoval finished with 23 assists in the Vikings’ 25-16, 25-14, 25-18 victory over the Jaguars.

Anthony Palma added five kills and two assists for Valley.

Heriberto Mireles had 20 assists, and Luis Rodriguez tallied 12 assists to lead Desert Pines.

Leonel Rincon had four kills, and Joshua Moran had two kills and eight assists for the Jaguars.

Las Vegas 3, Foothill 0 — At Las Vegas, Brandon Kampshoff had 18 kills and five blocks to lead the Wildcats over the Falcons, 25-18, 25-22, 25-14.

Shaun Kampshoff had 17 assists and five kills for Las Vegas, Jon Sosa had seven kills and eight digs, and Elliot Silveira had 13 assists, three kills and three aces.

Foothill’s Caleb Stearman had nine assists, five digs and three kills, Richard Reid had seven kills, and Truss Erb had five kills. Troy Bell had 11 assists for the Falcons.

All-state teams to be announced in June

All-state teams in all eight spring sports will be released one per day, beginning on June 6 with boys golf.

Senior Scott Solan had 13 kills, six digs and three aces as the Panthers defeated Coronado 25-15, 25-19, 25-16 on Thursday to win their fifth state championship.

Desert Region: Freshman Jacob Ceci helps Cougars top Foothill

Ceci put the finishing touches on a 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11 victory over the Falcons with a thunderous kill in the fifth and final set, clinching Coronado’s first region championship since 2013.

Roundup: Caleb Stearman helps Foothill into Desert final

Stearman’s sixth kill of the fifth set allowed the Falcons to complete a 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-11 comeback and advance to both Friday’s region final and next week’s state tournament.

Roundup: Kilmor Amor helps Spartans reach Mountain semifinals

Kilmor Amor had 15 kills, 23 assists and 10 digs Wednesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s boys volleyball team down Shadow Ridge, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain Region Tournament at Palo Verde.
