VOLLEYBALL: Panthers capture Lake Mead Fall Classic title

Pahranagat Valley outlasted Bishop Gorman's junior varsity Blue team, 25-21, 25-27, 15-13 in the championship match of the Lake Mead Fall Classic on Saturday.

The Panthers advanced to the final by downing host Lake Mead, 25-12, 25-19 in the semifinals.

Lake Mead's Rachael Watkins had 11 assists and five digs, and teammate Jenette Hensley added 13 digs and four aces. Also for the Eagles, Shannon Regan supplied four kills, and Taylor Webb had six digs and two kills.

Lake Mead 2, Bishop Gorman JV 0 — Webb racked up four kills, eight digs and three aces, and Watkins contributed 12 assists and seven digs as the Eagles rebounded for a 25-23, 25-22 win over Gorman's sub-varsity Orange team in the third-place match.

Hensley added 16 digs and three kills, and Regan had four kills for Lake Mead, which got six digs from Alayna Lippert.

Beatty 2, Calvary Chapel JV 0 — The Hornets secured the Silver Bracket title with a 15-25, 25-17, 15-7 win over the Lions' junior varsity.
