Eagles capture Boulder City Duals

Boulder City’s wrestling team went 4-0 on Saturday, including a 48-21 win over Mohave Valley (Ariz.) in the championship match, to capture the Boulder City Duals.
 
The Eagles had wins over Basic (45-21), Pahrump Valley (48-24) and Cheyenne (53-24) on their way to the title match.
 
In the final, Boulder City rode pins by Clinton Garvin (103 pounds), Brandon Gonzalez (112), Tyler Bethany (145), Shay Severens (160) and Brandon Foster (189) to the win.
 
Pahrump downed La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 48-33 in the third-place match.

Spanish Springs, which edged the Gators by two points last season, has the first-day lead at the Class 4A state wrestling tournament with 110½ points.
