24-year-old mom imprisoned 15 years for murder in Reno

RENO - The last of four defendants convicted on charges related to last year's robbery and murder of a 27-year-old Reno musician has been sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison.

Aurora Rodrigeuz-Perez was sentenced Friday to life with the possibility of parole in the killing of Steven Gale on California Avenue after a concert at a downtown park in May 2011.

The 24-year-old mother of two pleaded guilty to second-degree murder after confessing she drove the getaway car in a crime spree that ended with Gale's death.

Her boyfriend, Jacob Sanchez, was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Police say he fatally shot Gale in the back as Gale tried to stop one of the accomplices from stealing his friend's purse.
