Arizona authorities have released the name of the Las Vegas man killed in a Labor Day holiday weekend boating accident on the Colorado River in the Parker area, south of Lake Havasu City.
The victim was identified as Kurt Pedersen.
Pedersen was a passenger in a boat attempting to access a residential development in coves off the river, according to La Paz County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Alan Nelson. The driver lost control as he decelerated a jet boat at 6:39 p.m. Saturday and struck a dock at 3 mph.
Pedersen was crushed in the crash, Nelson said.
Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the accident, which is still being investigated.
