Southern Nevada racers and fans are cranking up for a busy few months when many racetracks around the country are either closed for the year or cutting back their schedules due to pending poor weather.
The following are major national and regional races that will be held in SoNev over the next three months beginning in mid-September. This list does not include regular events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which offers a full schedule at lvms.com.
Terrible’s Primm 300, SCORE Desert Racing Series, Primm. The penultimate race of the SCORE season before it concludes with the Baja 1000. (score-international.com)
NASCAR All-American Series, LVMS Bullring. This final points race of the season will determine the year’s track champions. (lvms.com)
U.S. Open Supercross, MGM Grand Garden. The two-night event is run under an invitational format and the sport’s top stars will compete. (ussx.com)
Oct. 29-Nov. 1
Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, LVMS dragstrip. The Full Throttle Drag Racing Series sends the biggest names in the sport to “The Strip.” The race is the fifth of sixth in the Countdown championship playoffs. (lvms.com, nhra.com)
Super Late Models Open Comp, LVMS Bullring. The night includes Super Late Models/150 laps, SuperClean Modifieds/75 laps, Limited Late Models/75 laps, Chargers/40 laps and Legends Cars/40 laps. (lvms.com)
IMCA Duel in the Desert, LVMS Dirt Track. More than 200 Modifieds from across the country will compete for $7,777 in Saturday night’s A Main feature. (lvms.com)

NHRA spring date changes in 2010 at Las Vegas
NHRA has moved its original 2010 date for the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at LVMS back one week to April 16-18.
