Biker dies after northwest Arizona accident

An Arizona motorcyclist died of his injuries at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center just before midnight Monday after he was hurt in a collision with a pickup in Kingman.

Kingman Police Capt. Rusty Cooper identified the victim as Jimmy W. Boblett, 43.

Cooper said Kingman man was riding west on Gordon Drive at 6:05 p.m. Monday when he collided with a 1998 Ford Ranger that turned in front of him on Powell Avenue. He said Boblett was wearing a helmet but suffered multiple blunt force trauma.

The driver of the pickup, Shawn Maxwell Marcus, 19, of Kingman, was not injured. Cooper said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the accident.

Cooper said Marcus was initially cited for failure to yield and that other charges are pending the outcome of an investigation.
