RENO — After building a temple in downtown Reno for the Burning Man festival, a pair of artists have launched a company that will aim to bring more art installations to the city.
The company hopes to base its International Arts Megacrew in Hobson Square, co-owner Chris Hankins told the Reno Gazette-Journal, because of the excitement over their Temple of Transition project .
The other co-owner, James Horkan, said Reno’s proximity to the festival makes it an ideal spot to tackle major projects tied to Burning Man.
Hankins , Horkan and others built a scale model of the three-tiered, 120-foot Temple of Transition in the historic Reno Brewing building in Hobson Square. They did most of the work before building the temple on the playa where Burning Man begins today.
