Comedy Central stars say “aloha” to Hulu

The audience for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert is about to shrink, as Comedy Central has decided to pull the plug on letting Hulu.com have the popular programs "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report." A story by the Associated Press said the last day the shows will be available on Hulu is March 9.
The network is yanking the shows in a feud over splitting advertising revenue with Hulu, and is another example of the ever-moving target of making a profit with digital content. The debate of charging for some online content is heating up, as viewers have many choices when it comes to television programming. Many cable networks offer "on-demand" services, and many viewers now use video recording devices to capture the shows for viewing on their own schedule.
I chatted with a friend last week who said he and his wife are huge fans of the ABC show "Lost," and have not missed an episode. He said he doesn't know the channel, day or time the show is broadcast, as he simply sets his video recorder to save all new episodes. I'm guessing he also fast-forwards through the commercials.
