Defending champion Martin Laird will be the one to catch going into Sunday’s final round after Laird shot an 8-under par 63 today at TPC Summerlin in the third round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Laird, who is at 19-under par 194, leads Jonathan Byrd by one shot and Webb Simpson and Cameron Percy by two strokes. Byrd closed out his round with birdies at two of the final three holes to post a 5-under 66 for a three-day total of 195.
Percy, a PGA Tour rookie who is No. 185 on the money list with just $207.802 in earnings, had the best round of his career, a 9-under 62, which was also the day’s best.
Simpson had 10 birdies in his round of 64 as he and Percy are at 196 through three rounds.
