CARSON CITY — One of Carson City’s largest employers has announced the layoffs of another 41 workers, citing a business decline for the move.
Chromalloy Nevada officials say the layoffs affected both hourly and salaried positions in all areas of the business.
The Nevada Appeal of Carson City reports they follow layoffs of 91 employees last September and about 150 workers in December 2008.
The company had about 540 employees in Carson City before the 2008 layoffs were imposed.
Chromalloy bills itself as the leading independent supplier of FAA-approved replacement parts and maintenance, repair and overhaul for gas turbines used in aviation and land-based applications.
Customers include major airlines, military forces worldwide and industrial gas-turbine engine owners.
Chromalloy opened two sites in Carson City in the early 1990s for turbine repair and service.
