Long-running used book store to close
After 17 years, On the Road Books & Records, 3430 E. Tropicana Ave., is scheduled to close its doors on June 9. The store, formerly known as Michael’s Used Books, is set to sell its remaining stock at 50 percent off.
“To survive I would realistically have to move the bookstore to a much more affluent area,” said owner Michael Clark. “I’m 64 years old. I can’t do that. I’m holding a retirement party on (Saturday,) to celebrate everything this store has stood for all these years.”
To RSVP for the party, visit facebook.com/ontheroadbooks or call the store at 434-1699.
