Ex-Green Valley Ranch manager arrested

One of the men at the center of a heated lawsuit between Greenspun Corp. affiliates and Station Casinos was arrested over the weekend. Timothy Wright, 41, was arrested by Henderson police on Saturday on charges of domestic battery by strangulation, aiming or discharging a firearm at a human being and discharging a firearm at or into a structure or occupied vehicle.

The circumstances surrounding the arrest were unclear Sunday night.

Green Valley Ranch Resort is jointly owned by affiliate companies of the Greenspun Corp., which owns and operates media, land development and gaming companies; and Station Casinos.

After the resort's Station Casinos affiliate declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month, the Greenspun affiliate filed a motion in bankruptcy court alleging "wrongdoing" that included allegations that Station Casinos lured high-stakes gamblers from Green Valley Ranch Resort to resorts wholly owned by Station Casinos, such as Red Rock Resort.

Those allegations came from an affidavit by Wright, who was general manager of the Green Valley Ranch Resort until he was fired in November.

In response to the Greenspun motion, Station Casinos said the allegations were false and that after he was fired, Wright "attempted to extort (the company) by threatening to go public" with the false allegations.
