Ex-husband held in death of woman

A woman was stabbed to death and her ex-husband was arrested Friday night in the southwest valley.

Las Vegas police said they received a call about 11 p.m. about a man stabbing a woman at a home at 6283 Humus Ave., near Warm Springs Road and Jones Boulevard.

Police found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her name was not released.

The ex-husband, identified as 50-year-old Edwin M. Magbanua, was arrested without incident, according to police.

He is being charged with murder with a deadly weapon and is being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail.

Police had not determined a motive for the slaying on Saturday.
