Final day for voter registration arrives

Today is the deadline for registering to vote in the November general election.

Those who still want to register must do so in person at the county election center, 965 Trade Drive, Suite A, North Las Vegas; or the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. The two offices will be open from
8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

As of Monday, 335,227 people registered as Democrats; 243,645 as Republicans; 30,850 as Independent American Party; 117,826 as nonpartisan; 4,111 as Libertarian; and 3,975 as others.

The Tea Party is not an official ballot category, and those voting under the label would be lumped into the "others" category.
