Five teenagers arrested in LV robberies, burglaries

Las Vegas police on Friday announced the arrests of five teenagers, including three juveniles, for a string of violent robberies and burglaries in the southwest valley.
The crime spree began in the late morning hours of July 29, when the suspects robbed and beat three victims at gunpoint in the area of Grand Canyon Drive and Lake South Drive, near Desert Inn Road, police said.
Later that afternoon, officers pulled over the suspects' vehicle in the area of Charleston Boulevard and Pavilion Center Drive, in Summerlin.
Investigators found that the driver of the car and one of the passengers had been involved in the morning robbery.
Anthony M. Medel, 18, was arrested, charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, and held on $56,000 bail.
An investigation revealed additional suspects involved in the incidents, which included automobile theft.
Michael A. McSwain, 18, was arrested Monday and jailed on $45,000 bail for other robbery with a deadly weapon charges.
Three juveniles, whose names were not released, were also arrested, police said.
